An Ogun State based Pastor, James Oseni has cried out alleging threat to his life and members of his family by the Divisional Police Officer, DPO Igbesa, SP. Abayomi Adeniji.

The senior pastor of Prayer, Teaching & Fasting Ministry of Iga Itolu, Ogona quarters, Igbesa Ogun State said him and members of his family have remained in perpetual fears as a result of alleged unprofessional conduct of SP. Abayomi.

He claimed he has been an object of incessant unwarranted arrest and detention orchestrated by an unnamed landgrabber.

Pastor James Oseni said he had it on a good authority that his opponent dragging his landed property has induced the DPO to be torturing him with State apparatus.

According to the Petitioner, at one instance specifically on September 18, 2020, when the DPO ordered for his arrest without an invite from the police and the Policemen met his cousin simply identified as Akeem, they descended on him claiming that he was hiding him, the pastor; adding that he had, had to petition the former CP Edward Ajogun (now retired) to call SP. Abayomi and his men to order.

He explained that a recent incident which happened on December 20, 2021, in which SP. Abayomi’s men manhandled him and had him detained prompted another petition to the Area Commander because he was no longer sure of his safety in the community.

A petition signed by one Kayode Ajiboye of Mascot Royal Chambers located on Thomas Olaniyan Street beside LASU Satellite campus, Idi-Iroko, Anthony village Lagos dated December 23, 2021 and addressed to the office of the Area Commander, Igbesa alleged that Pastor James who was returning from a Court proceeding at Idoke High Court and at about 4.30pm was on a bike to Owo river to catch a boat to cross to the other side when he was called by the DPO ordering him to report to his office immediately on the ground that there was a petition against him (the Pastor) which he must respond to.

According to the petitioner, in spite of the fact that it was already late, he had to turn back to answer the call of the DPO only to behold four fierce looking and hefty men on different bikes chasing furiously after his own bike; fueling speculation that he was being trailed from the court.

The petitioner added that the bikes ferociously overtook, double crossed his and in the process, him and his rider landed on the ground sustaining injuries on the legs. Thereafter, the four unidentified men of which two later turned out to be known as policemen, pounced on him, gave him the beating of his life.

He added that he was later hauled on one of the bikes and ridden to the station where he was moved straight to the office of the DPO.

He continued that at the DPO’s office, his handset was seized from him; rendering him incommunicado. And rather than being confronted with the said petition, SP. Abayomi instead screamed at him warning him to pray that nothing ominous happens in Odan Abuja community from now till eternity, otherwise, he would be shown the colour of his inside.

“Thereafter, I was asked to be detained without any reason for my detention. I didn’t write statement neither was I allowed to say anything. My handset was collected from me and so none of my family members knew where I was. He left me in detention till at about 11pm when it was visibly difficult for me to find any Okoda that would take him home at the time before they asked me go.”

“This is why I am crying out to the general public because if anything happens to me or any member of my family, SP. Abayomi Adeniji should be held responsible,” he concluded.
