Baring any last minute change of mind, Ugochukwu Onwukwe will commence a legal action against the Nigerian midstream and downstream petrol regulatory authority over the importation of toxic fuel.

He indicated this intention to sue in a letter sent to the organisation through his lawyer, Olakunle Morohundiya.
The claimant said his decision is based on organisation’s negligence in allowing the importation of substandard petroleum products into Nigeria between January and February 2022.
Quoting relevant laws that were breached, Mister Onwukwe is claiming the sum of 50 million Naira as aggravated and exemplary damages against the defendant in favour of the claimant and every Nigerian affected by the act of negligence, their names will be compiled by Mister Morohundiya.
He also want the court to award a 21 percent interest until the judgement fund is liquidated.
Apart from the 100 million Naira legal fees being sought, he also want the defendant to offer a full page public apology to Nigerians in two Nigerian newspapers within seven days.
