Murder Of Bamishe: Civil Society Calls For Diligent Investigation, Prosecution Of Suspect

Following the gruesome murder of a 22-year-old, Oluwabamishe Ayanwole, by a BRT bus driver and his cohorts in Lagos, a civil rights group, Centre Against Injustice and Domestic Violence, CAIDOV, has called for thorough and diligent investigations into the case.

Speaking on behalf of the group, its Executive Director, Comrade Gbenga Soloki, described the murder of the fashion designer as callous, dastardly and criminal in all ramifications and that only thorough investigation will certainly unearth those behind the criminal act in a government-owned transport company.

The CAIDOV boss stated that from the reports of the incident before the eventual discovery of the dead body and arrest of the driver, there are missing gaps and the police will be doing Nigerians, especially the family good if the issue is properly treated so that whoever that’s involved in the act will be made to face the full wrath of the law.

He said; “The unwarranted death of Miss Bamishe Ayanwole in the hand of the driver of the bus she boarded is a great shock to us, this is another dimension to ritual murder. It’s so sad that a promising young girl could be murdered by the driver of a bus she boarded and other accomplices in a bus of a transport company owned by the state government. This has really shown that no one is safe and the criminal elements are on the prowl everywhere.”

“Our advice for the Lagos Police Commissioner is for his officers and men to be allowed to carry our diligent and thorough investigation of the murder to expose those behind this dastardly act. The Lagos State government should equally ensure justice is served in this matter by supporting the prosecution of whoever is fingered in the matter, while the company that recruited the driver to be sanctioned appropriately. No one should be sacred in the whole mess.”

The CAIDOV boss however expressed condolences to the family of the murdered girl and promised the centre will not rest until justice is gotten for the deceased and her family.
