Airline operators in Nigeria says it is giving three days notice to shutdown operations over lack of aviation fuel.
This was the outcome of a meeting rescheduled by the House of Representatives, oil marketers and Airline Operators or shortage and hike of aviation fuel.
At the resumes investigative hearing, oil marketers could not furnish the house with reasons why the price of the product is selling at N670 as against N190.
Speaking before the special House Committee, Representative of the airline operators and the Chief Executive Officer of Air Peace, Allen Onyema said they can no longer afford the product anymore and will be forced to shutdown.
On his part, the Group Managing Director of the NNPC Limited, Mele Kyari said that at the moment, 19 oil companies are in possession of 88 million litres of aviation fuel in the country.
