INEC Chairman Says PVCs Lost To Arson Will Be Reproduced Soon

The Chairman, Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, Professor Mahmood Yakubu, has reassured that, the commission would reprint every permanent voter card destroyed during recent attack on its Abeokuta South Local Government area office in Ogun State.

A total of 65,699 PVCs were affected amongst other administrative materials.

The INEC Chairman during on-the-spot assessment to the facility maintained that, internal and external stakeholders should not be discouraged by act of arson by undemocratic and retrogressive elements because that would not deter the commission from its mandate.

Professor Yakubu said it is very disappointing that in that last four months, five INEC offices have been attacked nationwide; he however tasked Nigerian citizens to believe that, everything will turnout good before, during and after the 2023 general elections.
