The Governor of Imo State, Senator Hope Uzodimma has announced, the death of, the President-General of Ohaneze Ndigbo, worldwide, Professor George Achulike Obiozor.
A statement personally signed by the governor described the deceased as a renowned academic, an exceptional diplomat and statesman and a tenacious patriot.
He died after a brief illness.
According to Governor Uzodinma, Professor George Obiozor death is a big loss to Imo State, the South-East and the entire Nigeria.
He said his burial arrangements will be announced in due course by the family..
Prof. George Obiozor was elected the President-General of Ohaneze Ndigbo in 2021.
He was a Professor of Political Science, and a native of Awo-Omamma in Imo State.
He was former Nigeria Ambassador to USA, Israel and Cyprus.
