    Police Dock Spare Parts Dealer For Allegedly Assaulting Married Woman For Refusing Sexual Advance

    An auto spare parts dealer, Ebube Eddy alias Bebex and Ali Musa have been remanded in the custody of the Nigeria Correctional Service, Kirikiri, Lagos on Wednesday.

    The defendants were remanded by a Lagos Magistrate court sitting at Samuel Ilori court house in Ogba.

    The defendants were charged to court for  allegedly assaulting a married woman, Omolara James.

    Following their inability to perfect their bail, they were ordered remanded in prison custody.

    The Magistrate however fixed May 15, 2023 for further hearing in the charge against them.

    Recall that the James had in a video that went viral on social media at the weekend, alledged Bebex of harassment and assault.

    The complainant said that when she did not yield to the man’s sexual advance, he allegedly ordered his boys to slap her.

    The woman, however, later released another video in which she recanted her earlier allegation.

    Following the videos, there were, outcry that she was pressured to recant, hence, the decision of the Commissioner of Police, Idowu Owohunwa, to reopen and take over the case.

    The CP having heard from all parties established that there are indeed cases to answer and directed that the matter be charged to court.
