The Assistant Inspector General of Police Ari Mohammed Ali, Zone 2 Command, Onikan, Lagos has decorated three Assistant Commissioners of Police with the rank of Deputy Commissioner of Police during a working visit to officers of the Lagos State Police Command Headquarters on Monday.

Some of the management staff decorated were Assistant Commissioners of Police, in charge of various Area Commands in Lagos, namely; Omole Ola, Sagir Ismail, A.A Shika, while CSP Ogunsakin Gbenga to the rank of Assistant Commissioner of Police, among other senior personnel decorated.

He also charged all Area Commanders and Divisional Police Officers attached to the Command to be disciplined as they work as a team to move the Force under the new leadership of Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun.

The Zone 2 police boss was speaking at the Police Officers Mess, Ikeja venue of the meeting with top officers of the Command.

Ali said the purpose of meeting with the Police officers is in order to rejig the security architecture with a view of making it more robust.

He said this on heels of the welcome speech of the Lagos State Commissioner of Police, CP Idowu Owohunwa, who commended management team of the command for exceeding performance.

He noted however that there is always room for improvement in every situation.

He stated, “I believe if we all stand tall and say, yes, we can do it and ensure that this state is rid off of criminals. We would see Lagos will definitely be crime free, if not totally crime free but to a reasonable extent, where people go about their businesses without being bugged or otherwise, that is the kind of Lagos that I want all of us to bequeath to the junior ones that are coming behind us.
