Two suspects; Monday Egbe, 32, and Kenneth Nnoga, 28 were arrested on May 28, 2025, by operatives of the Command during a covert operation that led investigators to the suspects’ hideout in a neighboring state.

Confirming the arrest in a statement issued on June 1, 2025, the Police Public Relations Officer in Anambra, SP Tochukwu Ikenga, recalled that the incident occurred on 13 January 2025.

Disclosing how the body of the bank manager was found, the police stated that the victim’s corpse was discovered along Nnobi Road with her eyes bound after the abductors had collected a ransom of fourteen million naira from her family.

The suspects, now in custody, are undergoing interrogation as part of efforts to gain further insight into the modus operandi of the criminal syndicate and to facilitate the arrest of other members of the gang.

The Commissioner of Police in Anambra State, CP Ikioye Orutugu, reaffirmed the Command’s commitment to ensuring the safety of residents and bringing perpetrators of criminal activities to justice.

“The Command shall continue to live up to its mandate of protection of lives and properties of Ndi Anambra and residents and to ensure that all cases are followed to a logical conclusion and justice served,” CP Orutugu assured.
