Gabriel Uduafi narrates family’s ordeal
The attack, he said happened at his home village in Egbigere Inside, Akoko-Edo Local Government Area of Edo State.
This attack is said to be connected to his legal representation for HRH Luckman Odamah III, the Zeiki of Ikpeshi/Egbigere Clan in Akoko-Edo Local Government Area of Edo State.
Recall that on 1st March, 2024, two Policemen were brutally murdered by irate youth in Ikpeshi.
The murdered Policemen were in company of Honourable Emmanuel Agbaje, a two-term former member who represented Akoko-Edo Constituency 2 in the Edo State House of Assembly between 2015 to 2023.
It was reported that those behind the brutal murder of the two Policemen have not been brought to justice and have continued to upset the peace and security of Ikpeshi which has led to hundreds of indigenes abandoning Ikpeshi and seeking refuge in other neighbouring communities of Auchi, Igarra, etc.
The latest attack on the home of Gabriel Uduafi is part of a series of recent attacks that has led to the destruction of properties and businesses of the indigenes which run into hundreds of millions of Naira.
At the moment, the Edo State Police have launched a manhunt for this dreaded group of armed youth who seek to control the revenue accruing from solid mineral mining operations in Ikpeshi/Egbigere Clan.

Ikpeshi community is host to a huge deposit of solid mineral and which have been under exploitation from the early 1990 when HRH Momodu Odamah II was the paramount ruler. HRH Luckman Odamah III succeeded his late father and assumed the throne in the third week of March, 2024.
Mr. Uduafi is hoping that the Police and the government of Edo State would work together to arrest the ugly trend of violence in the community.
