There was a fire outbreak at 7th Avenue, in-front of J close, opposite the police post, Festac Town, Lagos State. The scene of the fire is where over 1000 Square meter empty land is occupied by different squatters from various nationalities in Nigeria mostly Northerners. Jimoh Fathia Retired staff of the Nigerian Television Authority, NTA, on Thursday lamented the non-payment of about 15 months pension arrears by the federal government. The pensioners stormed the Ogun state secretariat of the Nigeria Union of Journalists in Oke-Ilewo, Abeokuta describing the situation as worrisome. Their complaint was that about 2,000 of them have not been paid and the federal institutions responsible seems unconcerned. Defence and security reporters have been challenged to deploy investigative journalism skills in their effort to make the defence sector a lot more transparent and accountable in Nigeria. Lagos State Government on Thursday disclosed that four new persons have tested positive to the deadly Coronavirus, bringing the total number of cases in the state to 11. This means that over 12 people have been infected with the deadly disease in the country.
