A self proclaimed prophet, Olushola Akinsipe is standing trial for alledged defilement of a 13-year-old visually-impaired girl before Justice Hakeem Oshodi, of the Lagos High court in Ikeja. The defendant was said to have committed the act when the minor was taken to him for a spiritual cleansing over witchcraft. Armed robbers allegedly terrorising communities in Lagos State have been arrested in separate operations, according to the Police. The suspects, six in number, the Lagos State Police Command, SP Benjamin Hundeyin said were arrested by police detectives. Supreme Court of Nigeria has ordered that old N200, N500, N1,000 notes remain in circulation till December 31, 2023. This the decision of the apex court on Friday, 3 March, 2023. The court nullified the Federal Government’s naira redesigned policy, declaring it as an affront to the 1999 Constitution. The Lagos State Government may commit proceedings against Chrisland School over the death of one of its pupils, Whitney Adeniran. The outcome of the autopsy revealed that the student died of electrocution against the claim of the school that the girl was sick. A statement on Thursday by the Director of Public Affairs, Ministry of Justice, Grace Alo said the post-mortem report revealed Whitney’s cause of death to be Asphyxia and electrocution.
