    Court Ruling Clears Way For Seplat’s AGM On May 10, 2023

    Nigeria’s leading indigenous oil and gas company; Seplat Energy Plc has announced that the Annual General Meeting, AGM, scheduled for Wednesday 10th May, 2023 has received further affirmation today Tuesday May 9, 2023 from the Federal High Court sitting in Abuja and presided over by Hon. Justice A.R. Mohammed.

    This latest court ruling has cleared the coast for Seplat’s AGM as it re-affirmed unequivocally that the AGM should not be impeded in any way.

    Justice A.R. Mohammed in Suit number FHC/ABJ/PET/7/2023 – Akinnifesi & Adelaja V. Seplat Energy Plc has delivered a final and binding judgement, ordering the Company to hold its AGM on 10th May 2023 (“Judgement”).

    The judgment further restrains any current or former directors, shareholders and officers of the Company from cancelling or postponing the AGM as announced to the public.

    A statement signed by Board Chairman, Mr. Basil Omiyi on Tuesday said “Seplat Energy therefore states that, in due compliance with the Law and the Judgement, its AGM will hold
    on 10th May 2023 at 11:00am, as expressly ordered by the Federal High Court of Nigeria.

    “This announcement is made pursuant to Rule 17.10 of the Rulebook of the Nigerian Exchange, 2015 (Issuer’s Rule).”
