    How Nigerian Army Rescued School Children In Zamfara

    The Military high command is giving update on how the abducted Kaduna school children were rescued following their abduction on March 7, 2024.

    Troops rescue school children – Nigerian Army

    A statement signed by Major General Edwards Buba, the Director, Defence Media Operations disclosed that the military working with local authorities and government agencies across the country, in a coordinated search and rescue operation rescued the hostages.

    According to him, the hostages are same persons that were abducted from the school at Kuriga in Chikun Local Government Area of Kaduna State.

    He added further that, the rescued hostages totaling 137 comprise of 76 females and 61 males were rescued in Zamfara State and would be conveyed and handed over to the Kaduna State Government for further action.

    Nigerian Army rescues another 16 captives

    In a related development, the statement added that on 21 March troops equally rescued 16 pupils (Almajiris) with a woman taken hostage in Gada Local Government Area of Sokoto State.

    These hostages, according to the statement were handed over to the Sokoto State Government.

    Major Buba said these efforts would continue until other hostages are found and the terrorists arrested, tried, and brought to justice by Nigerian law.

    Nigerian Army vows to arrest killers of 18 soldiers

    Concluding, he said troops are employing similar effort to track down the culprits responsible for the killings of 18 soldiers in Okuama Community in Delta State, saying justice await the culprits, as they cannot go unpunished.
