In order to allow more time for settlement talks in a suit against Chairman of the Honeywell Group, Oba Otudeko and others, Justice Chukwujekwu Aneke of the Federal High Court in Lagos on Thursday adjourned the case till June 11, 2025.

The adjournment date was fixed after first Defence Counsel Mr. Bode Olanipekun (SAN), informed the court that parties were still negotiating settlement.
He stated further that that settlement had not broken down but was still ongoing.
Previously, at the last adjourned date of March 17, Chief Wole Olanipekun, SAN had informed the court that a meeting involving all counsel , had been convened at the instance of the Attorney General of the Federation. AGF, Lateef Fagbemi.
According to Chief Olanipekun, the development was aimed at reaching a peaceful settlement of the case.
Also, addressing the court on Monday, the Counsel to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, Mrs. Bilikisu Buhari confirmed the position to the court.
She however said that the case be adjourned for report of settlement or arraignment.
Thereafter, the court adjourned the case to June 11 for a report of settlement or arraignment.
The EFCC has filed a 13-count charge against Otudeko, former First Bank Managing Director Olabisi Onasanya, former Honeywell board member Soji Akintayo, and Anchorage Leisure Ltd., alleging that they fraudulently obtained N12.3 billion from First Bank.
The case is marked FHC/L/20C/2025.
The case was scheduled for arraignment on January 20, but the defendants were absent because the EFCC had not served them with any charge.
