The Lagos State Police Command has announced the death of DCP Khan Salihu, the Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of Finance and Administration, describing his passing as a painful loss to the Nigeria Police Force and the command.

DCP Khan Salihu died on Monday, June 15, 2026, according to a statement issued by the Police Public Relations Officer, SP. Abimbola Adebisi, on behalf of the Commissioner of Police, Lagos State Command, CP Tijani Olaiwola Fatai.
The command said the death of DCP Salihu came as a profound shock to officers and personnel, noting that he was a dedicated senior officer whose contributions significantly enhanced the administration and operational efficiency of the Lagos State Police Command.
Command pays tribute to distinguished officer
In the statement, the command described DCP Salihu as a disciplined, committed, and highly professional officer who served the Nigeria Police Force with loyalty, integrity, and exceptional dedication throughout his career.
According to the police, DCP Salihu demonstrated exemplary leadership and unwavering commitment to duty in the various positions he occupied during his years of service.

The command further noted that his extensive experience and administrative expertise played a crucial role in strengthening the management structure of the Lagos State Police Command.
“Throughout his distinguished career, DCP Khan Salihu exemplified diligence, exemplary leadership, and an unwavering commitment to duty,” the statement said.
Commissioner Condoles Family, Colleagues
The Commissioner of Police, CP Tijani Olaiwola Fatai, on behalf of officers and men of the Lagos State Police Command, extended condolences to the family, friends, colleagues, and loved ones of the late officer.
The command prayed for strength and comfort for those affected by the loss and asked Almighty God to grant the deceased eternal rest.
