The Chief Judge of Lagos State, Honourable Justice Kazeem Olanrewaju Alogba has commended the Force Criminal Investigation Department, FCID, Annex, for its vital role in crime investigation and the maintenance of law and order.

The commendation came on Tuesday during a courtesy visit by the Assistant Inspector-General of Police in charge of FCID, AIG Simeon U. Akpanudom.
Justice Alogba noted that the Judiciary and the Police remain indispensable partners in the administration of criminal justice and stressed the need for continuous cooperation to enhance justice delivery.
The visit was part of efforts to strengthen collaboration between the Nigeria Police Force and the Lagos State Judiciary.

During the visit at the Lagos State High Court Complex, Ikeja, the AIG emphasised and recognised the longstanding partnership between the Police and the Judiciary, noting that the vision of the Inspector-General of Police, on People-Centric Policing can only be effectively realised through robust cooperation among critical stakeholders in the criminal justice system.
The AIG highlighted the need for sustained synergy in criminal investigations, prosecution, and the administration of justice.
He further reaffirmed the commitment of the Nigeria Police Force to professionalism, due process, and respect for the rule of law, and human rights in the discharge of its constitutional responsibilities.
According to ASP. Aminat Mayegun, Police Public Relations Officer, on behalf of AIG, FCID Annex, Alagbon, Ikoyi, Lagos, “The engagement provided an opportunity for frank discussions on issues affecting the criminal justice system, including prosecution, court attendance by investigators and prosecutors, capacity building, forensic support, garnishee proceedings, fundamental rights enforcement matters, and other areas of mutual concern.”
The Chief judge expressed the Judiciary’s readiness to continue supporting initiatives aimed at improving the efficiency of justice administration.
The AIG appreciated the warm reception accorded to his delegation and assured the Chief Judge of the Nigeria Police Force’s continued commitment to strengthening cooperation with the Judiciary in the interest of justice, peace, and public safety.
The visit concluded with the exchange of plaques and a group photograph, symbolising the enduring partnership between the Nigeria Police Force and the Lagos State Judiciary.
