    FCID Arrests Suspected Armed Robbers, Uncovers Fake Cosmetics Factory

    The Force Criminal Investigation Department, FCID Annex, Alagbon, Lagos, has arrested three suspected armed robbers in the Ayobo area of the State and recovered a pistol, vehicles and other items allegedly used in criminal activities.

    Suspected Armed Robbers

    Three suspect; Ezekiel Omoloye, 46 years;, Olaoluwa Shuwunmi, 44 years; and Olaleye Kehinde, 41 years were arrested at a telecommunications infrastructure site in Ayobo on June 19 at about 2:00 a.m.

    Police authorities said the arrest followed intelligence-led operations by operatives of the FCID Annex.

    Addressing journalists during a press briefing by the Assistant Inspector-General of Police in charge of FCID Annex, Alagbon, Ikoyi, Lagos, AIG Simeon U. Akpanudom, said a search conducted on the suspects led to the recovery of six solar modules, one pistol, four rounds of live ammunition, an iron cutter, a Bajaj motorcycle with registration number KNN 52A, a Toyota Camry with registration number LSD 576CA, and a Toyota Sienna with registration number LSS 599GA.

    The AIG also disclosed that detectives uncovered a counterfeit cosmetics factory at Shop 30, Sambisa Area of Balogun Market, where illegal production of a baby cream branded “Baby Secret Cream” was taking place.

    Suspected Armed Robbers

    According to the AIG, about 389 cartons of the counterfeit product were seized, while suspects linked to the operation have been arrested.

    The police further revealed that other cases under investigation include obtaining money under false pretence.

    In one of the cases, a suspect allegedly feigned pregnancy and fraudulently collected over N16.17 million from a victim under the guise of purchasing baby items and providing pregnancy-related care.

    AIG Akpanudom assured that all suspects would be thoroughly investigated and prosecuted in accordance with the law.
    He reaffirmed the commitment of the Nigeria Police Force to protecting lives and property and urged members of the public to remain vigilant and report suspicious movements and activities to security agencies.

    The suspects are expected to be charged to court upon the conclusion of investigations.
