The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, on Friday donated a property forfeited by former Minister of Petroleum Resources, Diezani Allison-Madueke to the Lagos State government for use as an isolation centre for COVID-19 patients. The property consisting six flats of three bedrooms and a boys’ quarter was forfeited by Mrs Allison Madueke following an order of Lagos State Federal High in 2017. The Federal Operations Unit of the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS), Zone A, Ikeja, on Wednesday said its operatives intercepted a COVID-19 branded vehicle allegedly used by criminals to smuggle frozen chicken into the country. Also, the NCS said its men intercepted various items of contraband worth N12.7 billion in the last four months. The Lagos State Government has issued additional guidelines for the operations of all the commercial, industrial, institutional and recreational facilities that have just been recently unlocked in the State. The Commissioner for the Environment and Water Resources, Tunji Bello said in a statement that these guidelines were measures adopted to ensure that the community transmission of the COVID-19 pandemic is curtailed.
