Justice Emeka Nwite of the Federal High Court, Abuja, has sent Chibunna Umeibe and Emeka Ezenwanne, two co-defendants charged for drug related offence alongside a suspended Deputy Commissioner of Police, Abba Kyari to two years imprisonment each on Tuesday. The convicts were charged to court with Kyari by the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency. The European Court of Human Rights, ECHR, has delivered a landmark judgement against Russia in favour of Jehovah’s Witnesses. The Court handed down the judgement on Tuesday declaring that it was unlawful for Russia to ban Jehovah’s Witnesses. It further ordered Russia to discontinue all pending criminal proceedings against Jehovah’s Witnesses, to free all those already in prison, as well as to return all the confiscated properties or pay adequate compensation.
