    Lagos Police Arrest Eiye/Aiye Confraternities Hitmen, 183 Other Suspected Cultists In Ikorodu

    Suspected hitmen of Aiye and Eiye Confraternities Adeoye Daya and Taiwo Shodeinde were among 185 suspected cultists apprehended in Ikorodu area of Lagos State by Operatives of the Special Strike Force of the Lagos State Police Command.

    The cultists were arrested on the heels of supremacy battle by rival groups resulting in killings.

    DSP Bala Elkana, Police Public Relations Officer, in a statement on Sunday informed that the special forces on Social Miscreants took the battle to the cultists dens at Ikorodu, Ipakodo, Igbogbo, Ibeshe, Shagamu road, Agbowa, among others on the orders of the State Commissioner of Police, CP Hakeem Odumosu.

    According to the statement, “The Strike Force has so far arrested 185 notorious cultists and recovered 8 locally made pistols and other dangerous weapons from them.

    Suspects arrested confessed to belong to Eiye, Aiye, KK, Buccaneers, Vikings confraternities, among others.”

    During the arrest, a-30 year old Gbadamosi Mohammed suspected to be among the cultists who killed one Madariola Sunday at Ibeshe in May was among the suspects arrested.

    Others arrested were Onibudo Afeez, Habeeb Isa, Felix Igwoke and Taiwo Iyanu at Femi Taiwo Street, Ikorodu.

    They police said it arrested the suspects in an uncompleted building while holding their cult meeting.

    The image maker of the police stated further that one Adeoye Daya 25 years old, a hit man of Aiye confraternity was arrested at Ikorodu garage with one locally made short gun and rounds of live cartridges while Shodeinde Tosin, a hit man of Eiye confraternity in Igbogbo was also arrested with a locally made short gun.

    Recall that the Police intensified onslaught on cultists and gangsters in Lagos State two weeks ago when the Police boss in the state, CP Hakeem Odumosu ordered the deployment of Special forces from the Command’s tactical units to Ikorodu and environs to tackle the menace of cultism and gang violence.

    The security agency has assured that operations will be sustained in all parts of the State until criminal gangs are totally defeated.

    The suspects will soon be charged to Court.
