The National Orientation Agency, NOA, now has a Director in Yobe State. She is Hajiya Maryam Shettima.

The new Acting Director officially assumed office on Monday, following a well-attended handing-over ceremony held at the NOA state office in Damaturu, after the retirement of the former State Director, Alhaji Muhammad Ali Tikau.
Leadership transition at NOA Yobe state
Hajiya Maryam Shettima was entrusted with the mantle of leadership as Alhaji Tikau stepped down from his role.
Hajiya Maryam Usman Shettima, has served in several key capacities within the agency, and entrusted with steering the affairs of the NOA Yobe State Directorate into a new era.
The ceremony, which marked the end of Alhaji Tikau’s distinguished service, was witnessed by top officials, including the Zonal Director of the Northeast Directorate, Alhaji Ali Audu. He commended the outgoing director for his dedicated service and extended his warm congratulations to Maryam Shettima on her elevation as Acting Director of NOA Yobe State.
In his farewell address, Alhaji Muhammad Ali Tikau expressed deep gratitude to Almighty Allah for His blessings throughout his tenure and appreciated the support and cooperation of the staff that enabled the agency to achieve its objectives. He urged all staff members to extend the same support and commitment to Maryam Shettima in her new role as Acting Director of NOA Yobe State.
“Leadership is a continuous process, and I call on every staff member to give full cooperation to the new Acting Director in accordance with civil service rules,” Tikau said. “This will ensure a smooth transition and sustain the promotion of government policies and programmes at all levels.”
Maryam Shettima brings experience and vision
According to a statement signed by Sabiu Sule Maikwano, Public Relations Officer, NOA Yobe State on behalf of the State Director, the new acting Director, before her appointment, held several key responsibilities within NOA, including serving as Community Orientation and Mobilisation Officer COMO, in Damaturu, Head of Programmes Department, and most recently, leading the Community Outreach and Development Department.
The staff of NOA Yobe State expressed overwhelming support for her appointment and pledged to assist Hajiya Maryam Usman Shettima in discharging her responsibilities effectively.
