Not less than 75 per cent of Access Bank workforce will lose their jobs as the institution has disengaged its non-essential workers. This development was made known by the bank’s Group Managing Director, Herbert Wigwe via a video broadcast on Thursday. Wigwe explained the reason for the sack of those he referred to as non-essential workers and slashing the salaries of the remaining workforce. Kano State has overtaken Lagos in the table of States affected by Coronavirus with 80 new cases on Thursday. This is contained in the list released by the Nigeria Centre For Disease Control, NCDC stating that Nigeria on Thursday recorded the highest figure so far of 204 new cases. Police in Ogun State have arrested a 28 year old man Godday Robinson for alleged rape, stealing and attempted murder. He was arrested on April 24, 2020 following a miraculous survival of a 17-year old girl (name withheld). It is good news in Lagos as 49 patients have fully recovered and tested negative twice to coronavirus. The patients; 28 females and 21 males including a foreign national – a Greek were today discharged from the isolation facilities at Yaba and Onikan to reunite with the society.
