Shuaibu Gbenga Olufowobi has been remanded in Medium Correctional Centre for alleged rape of a-35-year-old woman in Lagos on Tuesday. Justice Rahman Oshodi of the Sexual Offences Court, Ikeja remanded the defendant after he pleaded not guilty at his arraignment. The defendant was charged to court by the Lagos State Government following a five-count charge of conspiracy, rape, sexual assault by penetration, sexual harassment and assault. A Magistrate court sitting in Lagos has remanded a-46-year-old teacher, Stella Nwadigbo at the Kirikiri Correctional facility till February 18, 2025. Justice Rahman Oshodi of the Lagos State Special Offences Court, Ikeja, on Wednesday dismissed the application by embattled former Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, Godwin Emefiele challenging the court’s jurisdiction. Ruling on the application, Justice Oshodi held that the court has jurisdiction to try Emefiele on the charge. The trial judge premised this decision on relevant statutory and constitutional provisions.
