Shuaibu Gbenga Olufowobi has been remanded in Medium Correctional Centre for alleged rape of a-35-year-old woman in Lagos on Tuesday. Justice Rahman Oshodi of the Sexual Offences Court, Ikeja remanded the defendant after he pleaded not guilty at his arraignment. The defendant was charged to court by the Lagos State Government following a five-count charge of conspiracy, rape, sexual assault by penetration, sexual harassment and assault. Justice Rahman Oshodi of the Lagos State Special Offences Court, Ikeja, on Wednesday dismissed the application by embattled former Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, Godwin Emefiele challenging the court’s jurisdiction. Ruling on the application, Justice Oshodi held that the court has jurisdiction to try Emefiele on the charge.
