A former member of the Lagos State House of Assembly, LAHA, Honourable Bisi Yusuf has applauded the Lagos State Independent Electoral Commission, LASEIC, for the smooth conduct of the local government elections in the state.

Hon. Bisi Yusuf, a three-time member of the LAHA expressed satisfaction with the electoral process, describing it as a model for other states.
According to him, “They should come to Lagos to come and learn how to arrange the election.”

In addition, the pioneer Chairman of the Yoruba Council Development Area stated that electoral officers arrived on time and conducted the election in an orderly and prompt manner, unlike previous years.
“They came promptly, they arranged their materials perfectly, and they started the elections, it was highly impressive,” he said.
Hon. Yusuf said the massive voter turnout was as a result of increased political education, performance of the ruling party at the national level, and public trust in the electoral process.

According the present Director General of the Grassroots Movement for Tinubu 2027, GMT, he said that his expectations for the outcome of the election are high, calling it a test case for the 2027 general elections.
He enjoined incoming chairman to immediately focus on strategic sectors such as road infrastructure, education, and healthcare, emphasising their role in complementing the national economic reforms of the President Bola Ahmed Tinubu administration.
Hon. Yusuf said, “They are the nearest to the people. For instance, there are so many roads which they have to tackle. Education is there. Then, health legacy is there.”
He hailed President Tinubu administration for bold economic decisions, especially the removal of fuel subsidies, which he described as a “Cancer” to Nigeria’s economy.
“The operation has been performed and the healing system is ongoing,” Hon. Adebisi Yusuf said.
Reiterating the achievements of the Tinubu-led administration, such as increased revenue allocation, student loans under the NELFUND, support for technical education, and nationwide infrastructure projects like the Lagos-Calabar coastal road, he said such policies were attracting industrial investments back to Nigeria.
Reacting to the formation of new political alliances, which he labeled “the association of disappointed candidates,” he said they pose no threat to the ruling party in 2027.

Yusuf said, “There is no way a frustrated person can tackle a focused person. We are winning. We are winning their hands down.”
He reiterated his confidence in Tinubu’s continued leadership and the strength of the grassroots movement ahead of the next general election.
“We are prepared more than ever. Ayobo-Ipaja is in focus. They will learn from us,” Yusuf said.
Yusuf is currently leading GMT to mobilise support for Tinubu’s 2027 re-election campaign.
